“Meister Hans Hoyer horns” of B&S GmbH much sought-after in Japan
After B&S GmbH found a new Japanese sales partner for the much sought after “Meister Hans Hoyer horns” in Japan, Gerhard A. Meinl succeeded to invite to Markneukirchen 20 Japanese traders in one sweep. They could convince themselves directly at the company of the high-quality hand-made manufacturing of horns.
B&S GmbH produces all parts for the “Hans Hoyer horns” itself – beginning with the bell to the valve section and every little knuckle. This way it belongs to the few firms which has control during the whole production and can implement all changes and news immediately. This fact is valuated in Japan very highly as it does apply to Yamaha too and is standard for all expectations.
Very consequently the program first included a visit to the Musical instrument museum Markneukirchen to demonstrate the tradition, starting in 1755 with Isaak Eschenbach, who used to be the first horn maker in Markneukirchen, up to Hans Hoyer (1921 – 1992). A hearty musical welcome was given by the B&S firm’s orchestra at the restaurant “Alpenhof”. On the following day the guests were not only shown the firm in detail but got lessons in horn production including musical support by Janos Banyus of the Hungarian Dohnany Orchestra.
